Sutherland Architecture and Interiors have considerable expertise of the planning process in Northern Ireland. Over many years we have built up specialist knowledge of all types of residential development, from large-scale housing, listed buildings, and housing in the countryside and work in Conservation Areas.
We have successfully designed some of the largest housing developments in Northern Ireland over the last 12 years for a wide range of clients. We have represented our clients at public inquires, the Planning Appeals Commission and also through the many and varied stages of the normal planning process.
One of our specialist interests within the practice is working on Listed Buildings. We have helped clients to restore and conserve many houses over the years and have specialist knowledge of this aspect of the planning process. We understand all the technical aspects of working with Listed Buildings and also in dealing with the Northern Ireland Environment Agency to obtain Listed Building Consent
A large part of our work is designing houses in the countryside and as such we have considerable expertise in this field. We have successfully obtained approvals for many houses in the countryside and have expert knowledge of housing on existing farms, replacement dwellings and the conversion of non-residential buildings.
Over the years we have obtained planning approvals for a large number of developments/ extensions in Conservation Areas and Areas of Townscape Character. As such we have a broad knowledge of the relevant planning legislation relating to these areas.
